Free Ships, Scholarships And Other Concessions
.... | Students belonging to i) Backward class (Scheduled castes, Scheduled tribes, De-notified and Nomadic tribes) and ii) Economically backward class (Annual income not exceeding Rs 1,00,000/-) are eligible for fee concessions from Government.
Students belonging to these categories shall take admission as early as possible in order to fulfill the attendance progress requirement strictly laid down by the Government. Very strict note shall be taken of the non attendance of lectures by the students and cases of default shall be reported to the Government (concession sanctioning authorities) for such actions as may be prescribed by the rules. The Backward classe students shall, at the time of admission, submit a certificate in support of their belonging to such class (specifying caste and sub caste) from appropriate authority. The students applying for Government of India (GOI) Scholarship should submit following documents:
Students Bar Association: College establishes every year Student’s Bar Association comprising students and staff members which meet twice a year. The college has organized several seminars in which Judges from Solapur Court and Mumbai High Court have participated and delivered lectures on topics like Indian Evidence Act, 1872, Civil Procedure Code, 1908, The Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999 etc. Students Welfare Schemes: The students are provided with different kinds of scholarship such as GOI Scholarship to BC students etc. Extra-Curricular Activities: The college encourages extra-curricular activities which include moot-court, debate competition, mock-trial etc. During every academic year students participate in national and state level seminars and debate competitions at various colleges in and outside Maharashtra state. Ex- Students Association: In 1989-90 the college has formed an Alumni Association and the interest of Alumni Fund has been utilized to conduct competitions such as Quiz, Essay, Moot-court, Debate, Seminar, Workshops etc. Healthy Practices: The college runs Free Legal-Aid Clinic and provides Counseling to those who seek free legal assistance. The Students Insurance Scheme and Employee Insurance Scheme have been provided as a welfare measure by Dayanand Shikshan Karmchari Sahakari Path Sanstha, Solapur. Debating Association: The college has established Debating Association to encourage participation in various debating competitions held in various colleges. Special Counseling Centre for Ladies Students: The college has established a Counseling Centre in order to provide assistance and guidance for better carrier opportunities, awareness of woman oriented statutes, grievance redressal forum in which Smt. Chandrika S. Chauhan, a social worker has been working as a counselor. |
